Welcome to Thrift the Trend!

Hi readers!

Long time, no chat! I'm sorry to keep you waiting, but I'm here now. Life update: I'm currently on Thanksgiving Break (or fall break for those who don't celebrate Thanksgiving), so I have a week off from school, hence I have more time to myself and to get back on my blogging game (yay!). I have missed you all. If you haven't noticed already, I have changed my blog name! Yes, BasicBloggerWannabe is no longer (#RIPBBW). Welcome to Thrift the Trend!

As I am growing and maturing, so is my overall look, aesthetic, and passions. I wanted to change my blog name because I no longer thought that BasicBloggerWannabe fit the work that I was trying to put out and it no longer represented me and my goals. The name was beginning to sound childish (I did create this blog in HS – check out my 1 year anniversary blog!) and I wanted something more mature. The name and idea for Thrift the Trend came to me one random university day, first as an Instagram and now as my new blog theme! So, for an overview: Thrift the Trend will be a fashion blog (don't worry I'll still post about my opinions and all the crazy stuff that goes on in my creative mind from time to time) where I will post all of my thrifted and sustainably, ethically sourced looks as I continue through my journey of re-vamping my closet to be one-hundred percent sustainable fashion! That's a big goal, but I think I can do it.

The reason that I want to take up this journey is because I realized that I was buying excessively and I was buying things that looked nice, but didn't make me feel anything. When I dress myself, I want to dress myself fashionably, but also meaningfully. So that's why I decided I'm going to dress myself with meaning – the meaning of dressing myself in pieces that look good and make me feel good, all while working to save the planet one outfit at a time. With Thrift the Trend, I hope to inspire others to buy sustainably by showcasing that thrifted outfits can look good and you can find thrifted items that are also trendy (just because they're old clothes, doesn't mean they aren't in style). I hope that you all will follow me on this journey by following my blog. I also hope that I can inspire you all to hop on the sustainable clothing train and begin your own journey!

Xo, Naydeline
